Occasional updates

A few emails a year: new libraries, campaigns, and ways to help. No noise.

Pages of Joy is an independent, youth-led initiative. It is not presently registered as a nonprofit in the United States or in any US state, and contributions to it are not tax-deductible. We would rather say so plainly than let anyone assume otherwise.

Volunteer

Volunteers run the sorting tables, read the stories, set up the libraries and carry the books. Most arrive with no relevant experience whatsoever.

After you submit

1We match you to a chapter near you, or to a programme team for remote roles.
2A team lead contacts you with a small first task.
3After a few sessions you can lead a project — or start a chapter.

What volunteering actually involves

Storytelling volunteers prepare a book properly and read it aloud to a small group for thirty to forty-five minutes. Sorting volunteers spend an afternoon at a table deciding which donated books a child would genuinely want.

Neither requires training. Both require showing up when you said you would.

Remote roles

Media and photography, research, translation, drive coordination and futures-literacy material can all be done from anywhere. Say where you are on the form.

What we will not do

We will not put you on a mailing list you did not ask for, and we will not pass your details to anyone else. If there is no suitable role now, we will say so honestly rather than leaving you waiting.
