Chapters

A chapter is how this reaches further than we can. You run drives, library projects and sessions where you are; we supply the process, the stock and the people who have done it before.

After you submit

1Tell us about you and your city — on WhatsApp or the short form.
2We reply within two weeks and set up a call to shape a first project.
3You are added to the founding chapter-leads group and receive the drive pack.
4You run your first book drive, with us alongside you the whole way.

What a chapter actually does

Collects books where you are. Sorts them. Finds the schools and communities near you that need them. Runs storytelling sessions, and eventually helps set up a library.

Most chapters begin with a single book drive rather than a launch. It is the fastest way to learn how the whole process works.

You do not need to be an adult

Pages of Joy was started by a four-year-old. Several of the people doing this work are still at school.

If you are under 18 we will ask for a parent, guardian or teacher we can copy in on anything involving travel, money or meeting in person — that is the only difference.

What we provide

The drive pack, the sorting method, guidance on matching books to reading levels and languages, and someone to ask when something goes sideways. You are not starting from a blank page.

Not ready for a whole chapter?

Run a single book drive instead, or volunteer. Both are real contributions and both are easier to start.
